This program is about the string harp! As one of the oldest instruments in Northern Europe, the string harp is still playing today and can still be found in European and international sub- and popular culture. The instrument, which is also known as “jouhikko“, “hiiu kannel“, “talharpa” or “tagelharpa“, was described by ethnologists at the beginning of the 20th century, thus documenting a culture that would otherwise have been lost to history.
