Gambling brothers

Spillebrødre is a podcast about Danish folk music seen through the eyes of two of the musicians who have helped shape it. Ove Andersen (violin, accordion) and Bent Melvej (accordion, violin, piano) have played countless balls and concerts all over Denmark for decades, including in the orchestra Rasmus, and they have taught thousands of people in dance, music and traditions. The series is about them, but it is just as much about the time they have been active in. From the folk music revival of the 70s to the 18th century music in Rasmus Storm's sheet music. And it is about how you almost can't avoid forming a family, or a brotherhood, when you are bound together in music. Cast: Ove Andersen and Bent Melvej Cover: Nikolaj Andersen Production and organization: Julian Svejgaard Thanks to Ella Jørgensen and Radiofolk.
