{"id":2929,"date":"2026-05-25T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radiofolk.dk\/captivate-podcast\/hovedstads-guld-lene-halskov-thorkild-ingeborg\/"},"modified":"2026-06-20T09:54:37","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T07:54:37","slug":"hovedstads-guld-lene-halskov-thorkild-ingeborg","status":"publish","type":"captivate_podcast","link":"https:\/\/radiofolk.dk\/en\/captivate-podcast\/hovedstads-guld-lene-halskov-thorkild-ingeborg\/","title":{"rendered":"Capital Gold: Lene Halskov \u2013 Thorkild &amp; Ingeborg"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"cfm-player-iframe\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 200px; margin-bottom: 20px; border-radius: 6px; overflow:hidden;\"><iframe style=\"width: 100%; height: 200px;\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/player.captivate.fm\/episode\/84ce8ab8-198e-4e75-b109-749b73badb39\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>Welcome to a podcast about the now retired violinist, bagpiper, ballad singer and, not least, folk music researcher, <em>Lene Halskov Hansen<\/em>, and her lifelong fascination with the now long-deceased singer and tradition bearer, <em>Ingeborg Munch<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Lene Halskov was born in 1955, and she lives with her husband in a cozy little apartment near Christianshavns Kanal, in Christianshavn, not far from Christianskirken. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to being a skilled and experienced musician and singer, she is also an author and lecturer, and she has a master&#039;s degree in folklore studies, and has worked as a project researcher &amp; archivist at the Folklore Collection, under the Royal Library. <\/p>\n<p>Now <em>can<\/em> It may be that Lene Halskov is retired, but on the other hand, that has not prevented her from writing several articles, including about the Jutland singer and tradition bearer Ingeborg Munch, and her relationship with archivist Thorkild Knudsen. <\/p>\n<p>Ingeborg Munch sang her whole life, and she sang everything: revues, pop songs, and songs that she had learned in many different places, not least from her mother. <\/p>\n<p>At some point in the late 1950s, Ingeborg meets a collector and archivist of what was then called &#039;folk culture&#039;, <em>Thorkild Knudsen<\/em>, who later \u2013 together with his wife Annelise \u2013 becomes the director of the Folk Music House in Hogager, an independent institution established in 1971 in collaboration between <em>Ministry of Culture<\/em>, <em>Danish Folklore Collection<\/em> and <em>Holstebro Municipality.<\/em> The house aims to form \u201c<em>framework for a working community between folk musicians and folk music researchers<\/em>\u201c&quot;, as Thorkild Knudsen himself puts it.<\/p>\n<p>It is safe to say that the collaboration between the two \u2013 announcer and collector \u2013 sparks. Thorkild is deeply fascinated by Ingeborg, and he and his newly purchased reel-to-reel tape recorder \u2013 the latest technology at the time \u2013 need, roughly speaking, someone who can confirm his theories, and the need for \u2013 and relevance of \u2013 establishing a dedicated folk music house, and Ingeborg and the singing devil she has behind her ear really want to go out and sing for people, together with, among others, Thorkild, Annelise and the cigar-smoking fiddle player, Evald Thomsen. <\/p>\n<p>But how does it actually happen when, as collector Thorkild Knudsen does, you interview a source or informant like Ingeborg Munch over a period of 19 years?<\/p>\n<p>How much influence does Thorkild Knudsen have, for example, on what Ingeborg sings into his microphone, and how &#039;flexible&#039; is she when it comes to coming out and singing her songs?
