Thank you for that!<\/p>\n<p>It&#039;s the end of April, right around the time when the cherry blossoms are blooming, and I&#039;m visiting... <em>Wartow<\/em> in Farvergade not far from City Hall Square in Copenhagen. Here is <em>Grundvig Forum<\/em>, and here you will find, among other things, a lovely bright hall with a wooden floor that is fantastic for dancing. <\/p>\n<p>Nordic Dance has spread to cities such as Aarhus, Aalborg, Odense, Svendborg and Esbjerg, but it all started in the middle of Copenhagen 10 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>On this April evening, the fiddler has <em>Mads Kjoller<\/em> gathered a team of tough young players around him, <em>Kirstine Nurdug<\/em> instructs the dancers and <em>Adam Laugesen<\/em>, one of the founders of Nordic dance, swings in the dance. The musical theme of the evening is dance music according to <em>\u00c6 Tinuser<\/em>, also known as the Tinus brothers \u2013 three brothers from Vr\u00f8gum in West Jutland who played at dances from sometime in the 1950s until the late 70s.  <\/p>\n<p>Traditionally, this evening starts with a workshop for beginners, and then you dive into ballet based on what you have just learned.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of people have come to dance this evening, around 180 young people, and when Mads asks around the room: &#039;Is there anyone who hasn&#039;t been to this before?&#039;, it turns out that about half of those present haven&#039;t.<\/p>\n<p>But there is plenty of energy and playfulness in the room and there is no need to list around when everyone has plenty of energy, a desire to dance and a good mood to share, so there will be a lot of action on this spring evening at Vartov in the middle of Copenhagen.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"cfm-player-iframe\" style=\"width: 100%; height: 200px; margin-bottom: 20px; border-radius: 6px; overflow:hidden;\"><iframe style=\"width: 100%; height: 200px;\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless allow=\"autoplay\" src=\"https:\/\/player.captivate.fm\/episode\/65ff401f-ac22-433d-b0bd-b85c274e6edd\"><\/iframe><\/div><p>Welcome to a podcast about &#039;Nordic Dance, a concept made by \u2013 and for \u2013 young enthusiasts of traditional dance and music&#039;, as stated in the association&#039;s statutes.
