Here she performed at a dance with several different bands and lots of dancers.<\/p>\n<p>We went to the party and just before the ballet, while the dance director <em>Henrik from Stevns Larsen<\/em> was holding a dance workshop for beginners, I interviewed Kristine in the community center&#039;s cozy kitchen while they were washing up and making coffee.<\/p>\n<p>Kristine Heeb\u00f8ll grew up with traditional music, but on the other hand is equally known for having worked for many years on composing new music, including new music for old folk dances. <\/p>\n<p>She has released several albums, both solo and with Danish bands such as <em>Phoenix<\/em>, <em>Trio Mio<\/em> and here lastly with <em>The WaveBand<\/em>, who specializes in playing Kristine Heeb\u00f8ll&#039;s compositions for traditional dances.<\/p>\n<p>This podcast is part of a series titled <em>\u00d8-Gold \u2013 Folk music in Denmark<\/em> which is about documenting and disseminating the islands&#039; folk music and the scene it is a part of.
