He was trained as a corpus silversmith from Georg Jensen and won a silver medal for his journeyman piece, despite being away a lot playing. He then continued at the school of arts and crafts as a goldsmith, but dropped out and started at violin maker Merling instead. There he learned in particular how to make bows for string instruments and then had his own company for a number of years building and repairing bows. As the first instrument builder in Denmark, he won the Danish Craftsmanship Award in the late 80s for a silver-mounted cello bow made of snakewood. However, he closed the company down in the mid 90s, because after the fall of the wall, a lot of instrument builders came from the east, who sold what he could for half the price. Then he became a radio operator and after that he was on Vision Center Refnæs, a school for the blind and visually impaired where he had a recording studio. He was there for 14 years until he retired.

This podcast is produced and organized by violinist and visual artist Maja Linde Christensen before Media Garden, and it is part of the series Ø-Gold – Folk music in Denmark which is supported by The Islands Art Foundation.
